Winter 2025/2026: HYAA Basketball

HYAA Basketball: 2025-2026 Winter Season 

REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN! 🏀
Join HYAA Basketball this winter for a season focused on skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and fun! We aim to foster player development and a passion for the game through positive coaching and strong character in a fun, safe, and nurturing environment for youth in Huntersville and surrounding areas.

Key Season Details
  • Registration Launch: Saturday, September 27th at 7:00 PM
  • Age Cutoff: Player age is determined as of the Season End Date (March 1, 2026).
  • Schedule: One dedicated practice per week and games primarily on Saturdays. Playoffs and Wild Card games will include weekday games.
  • Uniform: HYAA provides an official game jersey. Players provide their own shorts (no pockets required).

·        Registration Closes – Sunday, November 2nd @ 11:59 PM
·        Player Evaluation – Week of November 3rd
·        Team Draft & Formation – Week of November 10th
·        First Practice Begin – Week of December 1st
·        First Games Begin – Saturday, December 6th
·        Wild Card & Playoff Games Begin – Week of February 23rd
·        Championship Day – Saturday, March 7th
·        All-Star Game – Sunday, March 8th

Division Breakdown
·        Rookies – Ages 5U; 8 Projected Teams
·        Jumpstart – Age 6-7: 20 Projected Teams
·        Sprouts – Ages 6-8: 8 Projected Teams
·        Foundation – Ages 8-9: 20 Projected Teams
·        Elevate – Ages 9-11: 10 Projected Teams
·        Gateway – Ages 10-11: 22 Projected Teams
·        Strategy – Ages 12-13: 16 Projected Teams
·        Ascend – Ages 12-15: 8 Projected Teams
·        Legacy – Hight School: 14 Projected Teams

Interested in Coaching? (Deadline: November 2nd)

We rely heavily on volunteer coaches and are implementing a formal application process this season. Please complete the HYAA Basketball Coaching Application Google Form by November 2nd to be considered.

  2. Background Check: All selected coaches must still complete a mandatory background check.
  3. Important Rule: Due to scheduling, coaches may only participate in one division.
