Summer 2025: HYAA Basketball

2025 Summer Basketball

Join HYAA Basketball this summer for a season focused on skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and fun! We aim to foster player development and a passion for the game through positive coaching, strong character, sportsmanship, and teamwork in a fun, safe, and nurturing environment for youth in Huntersville and surrounding areas.

Divisions Offered (Based on Grade for 2024-2025 School Year):

  • Grades K-1 / Ages 6-7: Jumpstart Division

  • Grades 2-3 / Ages 8-9: Foundation Division

  • Grades 4-5 / Ages 10-11: Gateway Division

  • Grades 6-8 / Ages 12-13: Strategy Division

  • Grades 9-12 / High School: Legacy Division

Summer 2025 Season Structure:

  • Schedule: Based on community feedback, regular season games will primarily be played Monday through Thursday evenings. This allows families to keep summer weekends largely free (playoffs may include weekend games).

  • Timeline: The season tentatively runs from June 2nd through August 2nd.

  • Format: Teams will have dedicated practices during the first two weeks (Week starting June 2nd & June 9th) and one week mid-season (Week starting July 7th). Most other weeks will focus on games (~2 per week). The season concludes with playoffs and championships on Aug 2nd.

  • Uniform: HYAA provides an official game jersey for each registered player. Players provide their own shorts (no pockets required).

Key Dates to Remember:

  • Registration Opens: Sunday, April 20th

  • Registration Closes: Monday, May 19th

  • Parent/Coach Town Hall: Tuesday, April 29th (6:30 PM)

  • FREE Skills Clinic Registration Opens: Wednesday, April 23rd

  • FREE Skills Clinic Event: Saturday, May 10th (Grades K-3 @ 10AM, Gr 4-8 @ 11:30AM)

  • Player Evaluations: Friday, May 16th & Saturday, May 17th

  • First Practices Begin: Week of June 2nd

  • First Games Begin: Week of June 16th

  • Championship Day: Saturday, August 2nd

HYAA Basketball: Free Skills Clinic with Julyan Stone (Former NBA / Charlotte Hornet) - May 10

Sharpen your skills this spring! Join HYAA Basketball for a FREE Skills Clinic on Saturday, May 10th, at Lake Norman Charter High School (LNC-HS), featuring instruction from former NBA player and Charlotte Hornet, Julyan Stone! Focus on fundamental drills, improving technique, and having fun on the court.

Sessions are planned by grade level:

  • Grades K-3: 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM

  • Grades 4-8: 11:30 AM - 12:30 PM

Space is limited to 50 players per session! Registration is now open!
